Wikidata is a primary source of facts about entities.

Why it matters

Wikidata is an open factual database that many AI engines build their entity understanding on. A correct Wikidata item gives the engine reliable base facts about your company.

How to do it

  1. 1Create a free account at wikidata.org.
  2. 2Check whether your company already exists — search the name first.
  3. 3Create a new item with name, description, website, founding year and headquarters.
  4. 4Cite a reliable source (your CVR record or your website) for each fact.

Can any company get onto Wikidata?

Wikidata requires that facts can be verified against sources. A company with a CVR number and a website can usually be added, provided the facts are sourced.

Is this the same as Wikipedia?
